The Illinois Lawyer's influences were Hamiltonian, and his rise led to Lincoln becoming President of the United States after the 1860 Election. When South Carolina seceded from the Union shortly afterward, it began a fall of dominoes that led to eleven states leaving the Union, and a War Between the States. Mr. Constitution explains.
